WALL, NJ — Two additional candidates say they are pursuing an active write-in campaign for three open Wall Township Board of Education spots open in the Nov. 7 General Election.

Anthony Aldorasi and Mairin Barbiere did not file to run by the July 31st deadline but are encouraging supporters to write-in their names on mail-in ballots and during early in-person voting (through Nov. 5) and on Election Day.

The Wall Township Democratic Committee supports these candidacies, based on the organizations' social media sites, the candidates say.

No one filed to run for the board by the filing deadline this year, so the campaign is composed of write-ins.

Aldorasi was born and raised in Monmouth County and practices as a criminal defense attorney for the Office of the Public Defender here in Monmouth County.

He believes a Board of Education should focus on all students' educational experience and should also be fiscally responsible to the taxpaying residents of Wall. He has the temperament, time and focus to benefit all Wall students and residents, he says.

Mairin Barbiere provided the following information for voter consideration:

Barbiere is running as a write-in candidate for the Wall Board of Education. She and her husband Jim moved to Wall in 2015 when their oldest child was starting kindergarten. Both of their children have been proud Little Knights at Central and are now both students at the Intermediate School.

She has been actively involved with CAPE during her time at Central, as well as a coach for rec soccer and Girls on the Run. She is hoping to continue supporting her community and building a supportive school environment for the children of Wall by running for the BOE.

The other write-in campaigns include that of current board member Kenneth Wondrack and his team of Scott Schoener and Pamela Shimko. The Wall GOP Republican Club is supporting their candidacies, based on a post on the organization's Facebook site.

Current board members Kristen Hodnett and Christopher San Filippo are not seeking re-election.
