Crash Causes Power Outages, Road Closures In North Wall

Wall police: Gully Road between Waterview Way and Allenwood Road will have closures after a car crash Friday a.m. damages a utility pole.

WALL, NJ — A car accident early this morning in northern Wall has caused a power outage in the area, as well as road closures, police say.

JCP&L spokesman Chris Hoenig said Friday morning that 1,700 customers were originally affected, but the company has "isolated it down to 59."

He said two poles need to be replaced. They are Verizon poles, so they need to set the poles and then JCP&L can reconnect customers.

He said Friday at 10:30 a.m. that restoration of the remaining 59 customers will take about two hours.

The area of Gully Road and Brighton Avenue is affected by the crash, in which a single car struck a utility pole. The pole split in half, police say.
