Wall Appoints Newest Police Officer, A Former Phys-Ed Teacher
Daniel Grothues of Wall was sworn in by the Township Committee as a patrolman at a recent meeting.

WALL, NJ — A new police officer sworn in to the Wall department is a former physical education teacher.
Daniel Grothues, 33, of Wall, was sworn in as a patrolman at a recent Township Committee meeting, the department announced.
Grothues, his wife and two daughters were with him at the event.

He has a bachelor of science in kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island. For the past 10 years he was a physical education teacher. He has been a lifeguard in Spring Lake for 17 years, as well as a volunteer firefighter.
Grothues will attend the police academy in September and graduate in February of 2024, the department said.
