Wall Schools Superintendent Tracey Handerhan thanks first responders called to the high school Wednesday for haze from HVAC unit.

WALL, NJ — A fire alarm was activated at Wall High School Wednesday evening when custodial staff noticed a "visible haze" and an odor in the TV studio area, said Superintendent of Schools Tracy R. Handerhan in a notice on the district website.

She said the call was made at 5 p.m. Feb. 15 when the odor and a visible haze was determined to be the result of an HVAC mechanical issue in the studio area.

The building was evacuated while the police and fire departments investigated, she said.
