Wall Township Police Find Burglar Asleep in Car After Illegal Entry

The burglar had fallen asleep inside the vehicle he entered illegally, and remained sleeping even as police arrived on scene to arrest him.

Wall Township police had their work made easier for them when they found their suspect fast asleep, in the car that he had illegally entered.

On Monday, October 13, at approximately 4:50 am, a resident in the Orchard Crest development called the Wall Township Police to report that a suspicious person with a flashlight was inside their unlocked vehicle.

Upon arrival at the residence, Wall Police Officers discovered Wall resident Kyle J. Hruska, 26, had fallen asleep after illegally entering the caller’s unlocked vehicle. Hruska was subsequently arrested by Ptl. Officer Megan Alexander and charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Hruska was processed at Wall Police Headquarters and transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institute in default of $20,000. bail set by Judge Defino.

During the course of the investigation by Ptl. Alexander and the Wall Township Police Detective Bureau, Hruska was found to be in possession of various items believed to be possibly stolen from additional vehicle burglaries.

The Wall Police is urging any resident with an unreported burglary or theft from a vehicle to contact Detective Michael Steitz or Detective Rick Pasqualini of the Wall Township Police Detective Bureau at (732)449-4800.

An arrest is not a conviction, and every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
