1960s Pop Icon To Appear At William Paterson University
The musician and actor will perform and tell stories of his days in show business.
WAYNE, NJ — An icon in 1960s music and television is coming to William Paterson University soon.
Micky Dolenz, the original drummer for The Monkees, will be appearing at William Paterson’s Shea Center for Performing Arts. On Sept. 25 at 8 p.m., Dolenz will perform songs and share stories of his days in one of the most successful bands of the 1960s.
The Monkees, made up of Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork, formed in Los Angeles in 1966. The group had its own television show, “The Monkees,” where they would perform songs, put on zany skits, and more.

After the Monkees broke up in 1970, Dolenz continued his entertainment career, releasing critically acclaimed solo albums like “King for a Day,” “Remember,” and “A Little Bit of Broadway; A Little Bit of Rock and Roll.”
