In 2021, Be In The Room At William Paterson Jazz Room Shows

The popular fall concert series has made its return, and, this year, the concerts will be in-person. Here are the upcoming dates and acts.

WAYNE, NJ — In-person concerts are returning to William Paterson University's popular Jazz Room series this fall.

After scheduling and hosting virtual concerts in 2020, the series kicked off on Sunday with a performance by Janis Siegel at the Shea Center for Performing Arts.

In addition to Siegel, other performances this fall include Buster Williams & Something More on Sunday, Oct. 3, the Russell Malone Quartet on Sunday, Oct. 10, the Art Farmer Tribute Quintet - Archive Dedication on Sunday, Oct. 24, Scott Robinson with the WP Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, Nov. 7 and Ryan Truesdell - Birth of the Cool Live on Sunday, Nov. 14.

Concerts begin every Sunday until Nov.14 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the general public, $12 for WP faculty, staff, alumni, and senior citizens, $8 for non-WP students, and WP students are admitted free. Tickets are an additional $3 if purchased on show day.

Each concert will be preceded by “Sittin’ In,” the Jazz Room’s accompanying “meet the artist” concert preview, which features interviews with jazz artists and guest speakers. The discussion is free to all Jazz Room ticket holders, and begins at 3 p.m., one hour prior to each concert.

Even though concerts are back in-person, there are still COVID-19 protocols to honor, and all visitors are required to wear a face mask inside the venue. More information on protocols can be found here.
