Founder Christine Valmy (birth name Cristina Xantopol) was an esthetician, consultant, and entrepreneur from Romania who emigrated to the U.S. in the 1960s with her family. She opened the first Christine Valmy International School in 1965.

CEO Peter de Haydu, who Valmy's son-in-law, said barbering is "an incredibly in-demand trade" that is continuing to grow.

"It’s always provided stability and job security, but these days, with the boom in men’s grooming, the market is especially hot," he said. "Introducing this program was a natural step in our commitment to launch successful careers through quality education for the aspiring beauty professionals of New Jersey. We can’t wait to watch our alumni achieve their dreams in a whole new corner of the industry.”

Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 3, 2025. Visit the Christine Valmy website for more information.
