Barstool's Dave Portnoy Praises Passaic Co. Pizzeria, Highlights Family's Story
The Curcio family came from Italy and established a pizzeria that's been around since 1960.

LITTLE FALLS, NJ — It's been generations since members of the Curcio family came from Italy and made a name for themselves in the pizza business. But 62 years since its founding, Sun-Ray Pizza still stands in Passaic County.
The pizzeria also has a new fan: the founder of Barstool Sports. Dave Portnoy visited the Little Falls restaurant as part of Barstool's One Bite Pizza Reviews — a web series in which Portnoy reviews one pizza per day after taking only one bite. The YouTube page features videos from plenty of New Jersey pizzerias.
Monday's video spotlighted Sun-Ray Pizza — a longtime Paterson eatery that moved to Little Falls in recent years. After getting to know the family running the business, Portnoy steps outside and takes a bite out of a pizza.

Portnoy liked it. But passersby and employees from nearby businesses informed Portnoy that he should've tried a Sicilian pizza — Sun-Ray's specialty — rather than the more traditional pie he tasted.
So Portnoy reviewed both styles, giving a 7.6 to the more traditional pie and a 7.7 to the Sicilian. Sun-Ray Pizza scored 7.7 overall. That's tied for 201st in the history of One Bite ratings, which includes more than 1,000 reviews.
