WAYNE, NJ — An East Orange man faces burglary, theft, and drug charges after a resident saw him breaking into her home on a surveillance system and called Wayne Police, officials said.
Officers tracked the man to Totowa after he left the scene in a taxi, according to police. He's been arrested for burglary before in Wayne, according to past Patch reporting.
Police said a resident on Riverview Drive called officers at around 3 p.m. Thursday, and reported that she saw a man breaking in to her home via the door bell camera. The man then "fled to a waiting taxi," officials said.

Patrol officers responded to the area and were able to locate the taxi in Totowa, said Wayne Police Detective Captain Dan Daly. Police stopped the taxi, and arrested 49-year-old Keith T. Angelus after finding stolen items and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, Daly said.
Angelus was also charged with criminal mischief, and is being held pending a detention hearing, police said.

Wayne Police also arrested Angelus back in 2018, after a robbery investigation that involved a car chase and locked down several schools. Angelus reportedly fought police after the chase, and tried to run away from Chilton Hospital.
At the time of that arrest, his address was listed as being in Michigan.
