Children Learn About Nature at GreenQuest Nature Club

Discover the fascinating world of freshwater ecosystems and the diverse animal and plant life that helps sustain life on Earth. The GreenQuest Nature Club invites children in grades 2 through 6 to an exciting program on Wednesday, July 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the Knippenberg Center for Education at Laurelwood Arboretum, 725 Pines Lake Drive, Wayne. The session begins with an engaging educational talk followed by a hands-on outdoor activity—perfect for curious young minds eager to learn and explore.

The program is free to attend, but space is limited to 20 children. Registration is required, and each child must be accompanied by an adult. To register, go to www.laurelwoodarboretum.org.

The GreenQuest Nature Club is led by four Wayne Hills High School students with expertise in environmental science, art, and photography. Avni Lende, who is in 10th grade, has been with the program since 7th grade and is an officer in the school’s Green Club. Faryah Schwarz, a senior, loves exploring nature through photography, while 10th grader Liv Kaplan focuses on art. Tayyibah Akther, a sophomore, is a member of the school’s environmental club.

Future GreenQuest Nature Club programs will be held on September 24 (farm animals) and October 29 (scavenger hunt).
