Wayne Schools, William Paterson U. Closed Thursday Due To Winter Storm
Wayne is under a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m., as forecasters predicted a mix of rain, snow, sleet and ice on Thursday
WAYNE, NJ — The Wayne Township School District will be closed on Thursday due to the winter storm, and so is the campus of William Paterson University.
The K-12 public school district announced the closure on Thursday morning after initially calling for a 90-minute delayed opening on Wednesday night. All after-school and evening activities will also be canceled.
For William Paterson students, online classes will go ahead as scheduled. Essential employees are asked to report to work, and offices will operate remotely.

The Wayne Township Schools Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday night will still proceed as planned.

East wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 40. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. West wind 3 to 6 mph.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 37.
Saturday night: Snow before 1am, then rain and snow. Low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
