Delays Expected As Wayne Roadways Undergo Construction — See Where
A massive road improvement project is expected to cause delays, closures, and traffic pattern changes in Wayne for months, officials say.
WAYNE, NJ — A massive road improvement project is expected to cause delays, road closures, and traffic pattern changes in Wayne and surrounding areas for months, according to the Wayne Township Police Department.
The road closures are due to Passaic County’s reconstruction of Oldham Road from Preakness Avenue to Central Avenue/Hamburg Turnpike, officials said.
The 18-month-long project will cause temporary detours and delays, according to officials.

Starting Tuesday, Preakness Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Valley Road in Wayne and Union Avenue in Paterson. Detours will be put in place.
Wayne Police will provide additional updates over the course of the project, announcing road closures and reopenings.

“Please pay attention to all signage and temporary traffic patterns,” police said. “Expect delays.”
