4 Downed Power Poles Cause Highway Mess In Wayne: Officials
Parts of Routes 23 and 46 were closed and detoured near the interchange with I-80 as crews performed emergency repairs Thursday.

WAYNE, NJ —Officials said four fallen utility poles caused a traffic headache in Wayne Township Thursday afternoon and into the evening, near where U.S. Route 46, State Route 23, and Interstate 80 weave together.
Emergency repairs were expected to be complete by 7 a.m. Friday, and the four poles replaced, said the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
All four lanes of eastbound 46 were closed near the interchanges with Route 23 and I-80, with traffic detoured around Willowbrook Mall. NJDOT also closed parts of northbound Route 23, the department said later Friday.
