Downed Wires Close Road, Knock Out Power In Wayne Friday

Some residents and local businesses were without power Friday afternoon, after wires fell along Hamburg Turnpike.

WAYNE, NJ — Part of Hamburg Turnpike is closed Friday afternoon in Wayne, as crews respond to downed wires in the roadway.

Hamburg Turnpike is closed in both directions between Black Oak Ridge Road and Armstrong, as of 2 p.m. The closure was still active as of 4 p.m.

Also as of 4 p.m. Friday, there were about 700 customers without power in the township, according to PSE&G. That included Thai Corner Bistro, which posted a photo of a snapped electric pole from out their front window.
