Morris County Man Killed In Fatal Highway Crash Outside Car Wash

A fatal crash happened outside of a car wash on a New Jersey highway, prosecutors said.

MORRIS COUNTY – A fatal crash happened outside of a car wash on a New Jersey highway this weekend, prosecutors said.

A Morris County man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m. on Friday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

The accident happened at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Friday when officers responded to the area of Route 23 northbound and the Royal Car Wash in Wayne, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities were responding to report of a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle, a 2018 Hyundai Tuscson, was operated by Danielle Cohen, 30, of Congers, NY, prosecutors said.

Cohen was traveling on Route 23 north when her vehicle struck Gavino Salazar of Pequannock. Cohen remained at the scene of the collision, prosecutors said.

No charges have been filed at this time. However, the investigation remains active and
ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
