Fresh Kicks, Refreshed: See Inside Foot Locker's New Store Concept At North Jersey Mall

WAYNE, NJ — Sneakerheads and shoe collectors in Wayne are at the forefront of Foot Locker's future, the retailer said as it unveiled a next-generation store concept at Willowbrook Mall this week.

Dubbed the "store of the future," the new format boasts more dynamic digital fixtures and tech upgrades, expanded footwear and accessory offerings, and a re-tooled storefront and environment. The Willowbrook Mall store will serve as a blueprint for future expansions.

New and exclusive sneaker releases and trending products will be highlighted near the entrance, and there is a new communal try-on area at the store's center for customers to connect over sneaker culture, the company said.

Also, a "Sneaker Hub" offers unique customization for every style, and allows shoppers to find more ordering choices.

Foot Locker's sneaker ambassadors, or Stripers, will also be outfitted with a more high-tech toolkit to assist their customers — "transforming the in-store checkout journey."

More dynamic product presentations will elevate Foot Locker's brand partners and enhance the brands' connection to customers, the company said.

“Our new store concept cements Foot Locker’s position as the leader in sneaker culture by offering an engaging, cutting-edge shopping experience for the sneaker-passionate,” said Mary Dillon, the president and CEO of Foot Locker, Inc., in a statement.

Foot Locker said it will incorporate what it learns from the Willowbrook store into its future next-generation retail stores. The company has been re-shaping its real estate portfolio as part of its "Lace Up Plan" to open new formats.

Willowbrook Mall is located at 1400 Willowbrook Boulevard, Wayne NJ, 07470. Foot Locker is on the lower level of the mall, near Cinemark.

Current mall hours are: Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
