Free Comic Book Day 2024: Wayne Store Will Celebrate Saturday

WAYNE, NJ — A local comic shop will be among the stores across the U.S. taking part in the annual Free Comic Book Day on Saturday.

Zapp Comics, at 574 Valley Road in Wayne, said they will be giving away free comics all day and also posted a list of specials and discounts.

More than 2,300 local shops around the country will be handing out comics on May 4 — including issues from big-name publishers such as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing, Dark Horse and Dark Horse Comics as well as from up-and-coming and independent brands.

Zapp Comics will be open on Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Their list of discounts includes 50 percent off all yellow-tagged items, bin back issues, comic book sets, manga, and trades/hardcovers. Funko Pops are also 50 percent off, and anime figures will be 40 percent off. All comic art boxes are also $8.

New comic releases are not on sale, and store credit cannot be used on the sale items. Stamp cards are also not valid on sale items, the shop said.
