Man Hit By Train, Hospitalized In Passaic County

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A man has been hit by a train near the Paterson train station, according to officials.

On Tuesday, around 10:30 a.m., authorities responded to reports that a person had been hit by a train near 5th Avenue in Paterson.

NJ Transit found that a man who had been trespassing on the tracks was struck by a Hoboken-bound train that was set to arrive at 11:06 a.m.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. None of the 70 passengers or crew members on board the train was injured, according to officials.

The severity of the man's injuries was not made immediately available.

The situation caused a temporary suspension of the line, which has since been resumed with some delays, NJ Transit said.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted by New Jersey Transit Police, and no further information is available at this time.
