Moped Crash Leaves 1 Dead, Child Hospitalized In North Jersey

The child is in critical condition, according to police.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — One person is dead, and another has been critically injured following a moped crash in Passaic County this weekend.

On Saturday, around 11 p.m., Paterson police were called to the area of Cianci and Market streets on a report of a car accident.

Police found that a black moped had slammed into a tractor-trailer, leaving its two riders, an unidentified man and a child, seriously injured, police said.

Both of the crash victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. The unidentified man died from his injuries, and the child is in critical condition, authorities said.

The crash is under investigation, and anyone with information on it is asked to contact the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-877-370-PCPO or tips@passaiccountynj.org.
