Turnout was high this year for the first few days of early voting in New Jersey and is likely to be robust across the nation on Tuesday, with a presidential race at the top of the ticket. Voters in the Garden State also have decisions to make for a new U.S. Senator, for their House representative, and in local races that affect their towns, public school districts, and counties.
New Jersey voters also selected a new U.S. Senator to replace Democrat Bob Menendez after his conviction on federal bribery charges, and join Sen. Cory Booker (D) in Washington.
All 12 of the state's seats in the U.S. House of Representatives were also up for re-election. Wayne is split into two districts, somewhat outlined by Hamburg Turnpike. For the most part, those living below west or south of the highway are in NJ-11, and hose who live above Hamburg Turnpike are in NJ-9.
Constituents in the 9th District will be voting on a successor to Congressman Bill Pascrell, who died in August at the age of 87. Click here to see the latest results in NJ-9, and click here to see the latest results in NJ-11.
