Retired Wayne Police Officer Remembered As 'All-Around Great Guy'
Det. Cpt. Louis LeFevre served the Wayne Police Department from 1963-93.
WAYNE, NJ — Retired Dept. Cpt. Louis LeFevre, who served the Wayne Police Department for 30 years, died Saturday. Wayne police remembered him as "just an all-around great guy" who's "best described as friendly and easy-going.
LeFevre, 80, was born in Paterson and raised in Wayne. He graduated from Wayne Valley High School, where he graduated in 1949 and ran cross country.
He joined the police department in 1963 and rose through the ranks, retiring as a detective captain in 1993. For many years, LeFevre enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother, Jim. They had a place in the Florida Keys, where they made fond memories.

LeFevre was the son of he late Charlotte and Louis LeFevre, and the brother of James “Jim” LeFevre, of Wayne.
