PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — After 60 days of filming in Paterson and other communities around New Jersey, a teaser trailer has premiered for the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet.

The film, titled "A Complete Unknown," follows four years in the singer-songwriter's life — from when Dylan moved to New York City to pursue a music career, to his controversial performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. The title is a reference to the chorus of "Like a Rolling Stone," which was released as a single that same year.

The director, James Mangold, estimates the film could premiere as early as December. Dylan is one of the executive producers on the film.

From April through June, the cast — also including Edward Norton and Elle Fanning — filmed throughout New Jersey, drawing crowds. Chalamet, who starred in the recent "Dune" and "Wonka" films, shot scenes with Fanning in Paterson on April 9.

Patch spotted the cast filming in Hoboken this May; other locations included Bahrs Landing, a restaurant in Atlantic Highlands.

Mangold, who also directed the film "Walk the Line" about Johnny Cash, gave an interview to Rolling Stone Magazine this week, saying, "When I say it's a strong ensemble piece, it's certainly following Bob, but I'm much more interested in the wake that this person has left on others."
