Heat and humidity continue into Wednesday with an added risk of thunderstorms and flash flooding, forecasters said.
WAYNE, NJ — Excessive heat and heavy rain are in the forecast Wednesday in the Wayne Township area, as Tropical Depression Beryl sweeps across the Northeast.
A heat advisory continues Wednesday in much of the state, with heat index values climbing above 100 degrees in parts of North Jersey. And, there is an added risk of thunderstorms with damaging winds and heavy rain.
"There is up to a 70 percent chance for storms Wednesday into Thursday as the remnant low of Beryl tracks northwest of our region," the National Weather Service said. "Storms during this period will be capable of heavy rain leading to flash flooding."
