St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 2025: Parades, Celebrations Around NJ
More than 1 in 10 New Jersey residents claim Irish ancestry, and towns across the state will be decked out in green for festive parades.
NEW JERSEY — Communities around the Garden State are "painting the town green" for St. Patrick's Day, with colorful displays of Irish heritage from local bands, dance groups, and cultural organizations.
In New Jersey, where more than 1 in 10 residents claim Irish ancestry, March is full of lively parades that celebrate the spirit and culture of the Emerald Isle.
A number of towns have already honored the patron saint of Ireland, whose feast day is Monday, March 17. Still, there are plenty of events this weekend— including the first St. Patrick's Day parade in Cranford on the 16th — and some festivities on following weekends, too.

The Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade was also pushed back a week following the death of Joseph Azcona, a police officer who was killed in the line of duty during a shootout.
