Wayne Board Of Ed. Appoints Interim Superintendent Before Official Appointee Steps In
The interim superintendent will serve for two weeks before the board's official appointee steps into the role.
WAYNE, NJ — The Wayne Board of Education has appointed a temporary superintendent for Wayne Public Schools before the permanent superintendent steps in.
Former Assistant Superintendent Donna Reichman will return to the district as interim superintendent from Aug. 1 to Aug. 14.
“We are grateful to Ms. Reichman for stepping into this interim role and ensuring continuity of leadership as we prepare to welcome Mr. Cittadino,” said BOE President Don Pavlak. “Her knowledge of the district and commitment to educational excellence will provide stability and reassurance for staff, students, and families.”

Reichman will serve as the superintendent until the board’s permanent appointee, David Cittadino, begins his tenure as Wayne Public School’s Superintendent on Aug. 15.
Cittadino brings over 27 years of experience in public education and has served as the Old Bridge Township Superintendent since 2013, according to the Wayne BOE.

“Mr. Cittadino rose to the top of a highly qualified pool of candidates due to his exceptional professional record and his vision for public education," said Pavlak in a statement. "His dedication to students, his
deep respect for educators, and his ability to lead with integrity and transparency make him an ideal fit for Wayne.”
The first day of school is Sept. 4 for Wayne Public Schools.
