Wayne Mayor And Council Nominees To Face Off In November: Here’s Who’s On The Ballot
A highly contested election is set to take place this November, with two candidates vying for mayor, and six seeking three council seats.

WAYNE, NJ — Another primary election has come and gone, and the unofficial results are in. Here’s who Wayne voters will see on their ballots come November:
Incumbent Mayor Christopher Vergano clinched the republican nomination after running uncontested in this year’s primaries. He tallied 3,488 votes.
Vergano will be facing off against the democratic nominee, Don Pavlak, Wayne’s Board of Education President. Pavlak defeated challenger James Freeswick to get on the democratic slate with 2,418 votes, over 1,000 more than his opponent.

“I’m truly grateful for the trust our community has placed in me,” Pavlak told Patch. “To everyone who voted, who spoke with neighbors, who believed in this campaign—thank you. Whether or not you voted for me, your voice matters, and your participation speaks volumes about Wayne’s commitment to civic engagement.”

Six candidates are vying for three seats on the Wayne Council-At-Large — three democrats and three republicans.
On the democratic ticket will be incumbent Francine Ritter, who tallied 3,384 votes, and newcomers Dylan Orren King, with 3,175 votes, and Corey Tyrone McKinney, with 3,181 votes.
On the republican ticket will be incumbent Council President Jason DeStefano, who received 3,278 votes, and newcomers Donald DeDio Jr., with 3,068 votes, and Frank Pietropaolo, with 3,027 votes.
New Jersey’s General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4.
All results are unofficial until ratified by the Passaic County Clerk’s Office.
