Wayne’s New Superintendent Prepares For 2025-26 School Year

The new superintendent has been preparing for the 2025-26 school year, but not before hosting a special pizza party for his new team.

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne’s new superintendent is officially on board, and the school year is almost upon us.

Dave Cittadino was sworn in as the new Wayne Superintendent on Aug. 15, and is already off and running as the 2025-26 school year approaches.

“As we look ahead to a new chapter together, my focus will be to foster an environment where every learner can grow and thrive, academically, socially, and emotionally within schools that are safe, supportive, and inclusive,” Cittadino said. “Our students deserve nothing less than the very best, and we will commit ourselves to creating educational experiences that are built upon high expectations and grounded in mutual respect.”

As his first order of business, Cittadino organized a team-building event with the Wayne Township Schools staff. On his first day, staff members from all departments joined Cittadino for a special make-your-own pizza party at the Central Office.

Now, Cittadino and his staff are prepping for the school year, organizing routine events like the New Employee Orientation, which was held this week. Cittadino discussed Safety and Security, Class Management, Daily Building Operations, Student Support Services Overview, and Technology with the new hires.
