Wayne Township Election Day Guide 2024: When, Where To Vote
The general election is Tuesday. Check out our voter guide before you cast your ballot.

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Township voters will soon head to the polls to make elections for local school board and town committee, county offices, and all the way up to the White House.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, which takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Find your local polling place here — unless you sent your ballot by mail or voted early, of course.
This is a major election year across the country, with the race for United States President at the top of the ticket. New Jersey voters will also select a new U.S. Senator to replace Bob Menendez after his conviction on federal bribery charges, and all 12 of the state's seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are also up for re-election.

Early in-person voting for the general election started on Oct. 26, and will end on Nov. 3. Anyone looking to vote early in Wayne can do so at the Public Library at 461 Valley Road, or click here to view a list of other polling places Passaic County. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by 8 p.m. on Election Day, and be received by the county Board of Elections within 6 days after Election Day. These voters can also put the ballot in a drop box, or deliver it to the Board of Elections, by 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Who's on the ballot?
Wayne Township has three school board seats up for election, though only two current members are running as Iveta Wentink is not seeking another term on the board. Two other candidates have put their names forward.
Patch sent out questionnaires to the four candidates, and those who responded will have a link to their candidate profile attached to their name. Current office-holders are marked with "Inc." for "incumbent."

- Wilson Alequin
On the Board of County Commissioners, there are also three seats up for election. And in the race to succeed the late Richard Berdnik as Passaic County Sheriff, there are two candidates are running.

- Marla R. Saracino (Republican)
Passaic County Board of County Commissioners (vote for 3)
- Cassandra Lazzara (Democrat-Inc.)
- Rodney De Vore (Democrat)
- John Bartlett (Democrat-Inc.)
- Nicolino Gallo (Republican-Inc.)
- Assad Mujtaba (Republican)
- William Cytowitcz (Republican)
New Jersey has 12 representatives in the U.S. House, and residents will see candidates for their local congressional district on the ballot.
Wayne is split into two districts, somewhat outlined by Hamburg Turnpike. For the most part, those living below west or south of the highway are in NJ-11. Those who live above Hamburg Turnpike are in NJ-9, and will be voting on a successor to the late Bill Pascrell.

U.S. House (NJ District 9)
- Nellie Pou (Democrat)
- Billy Prempeh (Republican)
- Benjamin Taylor (Green Party)
- Bruno Pereira (Libertarian Party)
For New Jersey's next U.S. Senator, candidates include Andy Kim (Democrat), Curtis Bashaw (Republican), Kenneth R. Kaplan (Libertarian), Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party), Christina Khalil (Green Party) and Patricia G. Mooneyham (Independent).
Presidential candidates include Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat), former president Donald J. Trump (Republican), Chase Oliver (Libertarian), Jill Stein (Green Party), Claudia De La Cruz (Party for Socialism and Liberation), Randall Terry (Constitution Party), and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.(Independent). Note: though Kennedy has suspended his campaign, he will appear on the presidential ballot in New Jersey and several other states.
