Forecasters said a combination of rain/snow, wind, and chilly temperatures could make dangerous conditions for drivers on Thursday morning.

WAYNE, NJ — Weather forecasters are predicting the first widespread snow of the winter season in New Jersey, coupled with strong winds, which could spell trouble for Wayne commuters on Thursday.
The storm will sweep in Wednesday night, "bringing some rain and snow showers, strong winds, and continued below normal temperatures," the National Weather Service said.
Snow accumulation will only be a light dusting for most of the Garden State, forecasters added. But the combination of rain, wind and chilly temperatures could create dangerous conditions for drivers.

Wayne will have a slight chance of snow showers on both Wednesday night and Thursday morning, forecasters added.

A wind advisory will also be in place Thursday for all of New Jersey from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with strong westerly winds from 20 mph to 35 mph and gusts up to 55 mph, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Wednesday night: A chance of rain and snow before 4am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Thursday: A chance of rain showers before 10am, then a slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Breezy, with a west wind 13 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. West wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 35. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
