"Celebrate America" at RCSJ–Cumberland Campus Bands Spring Concert

The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. and takes place in the Guaracini Center.

Vineland – The Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland Campus bands will present their annual “Spring Campus Concert” on Wednesday, April 9. The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. and takes place in the Guaracini Center.

The College’s Jazz Band and Wind Symphony, along with select vocalists will present a wide range of band literature called “Celebrating America.” A snapshot of the Wind Symphony repertoire includes “American Originals,” “PrairieScape” and “Dixieland Bash.”

The Jazz Band’s repertoire will include the music of various composers and arrangers playing instrumentals of songs such as “Flight of the Foo Bird” and “The Preacher.” “Let’s Fall in Love,” “I Could Write a Book” and “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime,” will be played along with vocal arrangements to bring out the full expressions of those songs.

This is the 41st performance season of the talented Cumberland Campus Bands and is led by Joseph Askinskas, founding director and music professor, RCSJ.
