2 Face Drug Charges After 6-Month Westfield Police Investigation

Cocaine, oxycodone and a fake gun were found in the Westfield drug probe, according to police.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Two Edison residents were arrested on drug possession and distribution charges following an early morning search warrant execution at their home on Dec. 15, Chief Christopher Battiloro announced Wednesday.

The search warrant execution and subsequent arrests were the culmination of a six-month long
investigation conducted by the Westfield Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

Battiloro said it was initiated based on confidential information it received regarding drug distribution occurring within the Town of Westfield.

Mikel S. Rossignol, age 37, and Faaizah S. Ciullo, age 27, were both charged by Westfield Police with the following:

  • Possession of cocaine, a crime of the third degree;
  • Possession of oxycodone, a crime of the third degree;
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, a crime of third degree;
  • Possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree;
  • Possession of an imitation firearm, crime of the fourth degree (2 counts);
  • Endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the second degree.

Several law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation, including Union County Prosecutor's Office, Edison Police, Middlesex County Sheriff's Office and more.

“We have repeatedly seen the tragic impact these powerful drugs are having,” stated Chief Battiloro. “Fentanyl is commonly being mixed into cocaine and other street drugs, like heroin, resulting in lethal consequence for many.”

“The Westfield Police will vigorously do everything it can to remove dangerous drugs from our
community, and to hold those criminally responsible for their possession and distribution,” Battiloro added.

Both Rossignol and Ciullo were released from custody after being processed and served with summonses at the Edison Police Department, police said.
