Officers asked Ronckovitz to come outside the home, but he refused, according to authorities.

After securing the area, the Union County Emergency Response Team, Elizabeth Police Emergency Services Unit, and New Jersey State Police TEAMS Unit, with support from mental health professionals, tried to get him to surrender voluntarily.
