Charlie Kirk Comments Launch Review Of Union County Teacher
Healthcare workers, teachers, and other professionals are being targeted by online groups for comment in the aftermath of the shooting.

CLARK, NJ — A Clark Public Schools teacher is under review by his own district after comments made on social media following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
"The District is aware of the social media post made by one of its teaching staff members regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk," school officials said in a statement. "The District is in the process of addressing the matter." Due to the nature of the personnel issue, they are not commenting further or identifying the employee in question.
While it's unclear how the Clark teacher comments were originally reported, watchdog groups online like the "New Jersey Project" are continuing to call out healthcare professionals, teachers, and other workers to their employers and the public for alleged reactions they are sharing after the assassination of Kirk in Utah on Sept. 10.

On Wednesday morning, their latest attempt at gaining action through attention centered on a Pennington teacher who allegedly asked the public to not "make martyrs of demons." In response, the New Jersey Project shared her post and called on teachers to be better role models.
In another post, the group highlights a psychotherapist and shares a post showing the woman saying "I don't care that Charlie Kirk got shot...Charlie Kirk chose his platform." She goes on to compare the shooting to "when it's children in body bags" and that "those kids never chose to die at school."

The group is supported 100 percent by volunteers and run by parents who say they are "protecting childhood for our children."
The president of a national teachers' union, the "American Federation of Teachers" (AFT), came out right away on the day of the attack to condemn the shooting. "It's antithetical to how we should do things in our American democracy," Randi Weingarten said. Still, teachers in more than 10 states so far have already been fired or placed on leave while their comments are being looked into by officials.
Patch has reached out to Clark officials for an update on the situation, including the employment status of the teacher.
