Four Centuries in a Weekend at Westfield's Miller-Cory House
Local author book reading and signing to be featured activity at the Miller-Cory House Museum during 4 Centuries in a Weekend.
The Miller-Cory House Museum will be among the historic sites participating in Union County’s Four Centuries in a Weekend 2015.
As part of the festivities, the museum is pleased to host a special story time and book signing with picture book author Laura Sassi. With the help of a couple of skunk puppets and a special rooster, she will be sharing her debut picture book GOODNIGHT, ARK, published by Zonderkidz, a HarperCollins Company, and illustrated by New York Times bestselling illustrator Jane Chapman. The reading and signing will take place on Saturday, October 17, from 2:00 to 4:00. Books will be available for purchase in the museum’s gift shop.

The museum, located at 614 Mountain Avenue in Westfield, will be open for Four Centuries in a Weekend on October 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and October 18 from noon to 5 p.m. Other activities include demonstrations of early American open-hearth cooking in the Frazee Building. Admission for both days is free.
Upcoming programs include “Halloween Hocus Pocus” on October 25, 1:30 to 4:00. Reservations are required and will be accepted by email or phone through October 19 and phone only through noon, October 24.
