Fugitive Arrested After Barricading Himself Inside Elizabeth Motel Room: Police
Authorities said the man was wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a Rahway bank.

ELIZABETH, NJ — A man who authorities said robbed a bank last week was arrested Wednesday after he barricaded himself inside an Elizabeth hotel room, according to officials.
Elizabeth police responded to the Rest Inn on Maple Avenue shortly after 9:50 a.m. to assist another agency in apprehending a fugitive who had barricaded himself inside the motel, City of Elizabeth spokesperson Ruby Contreras told Patch.
The barricade situation went on for several hours and ended around 3 p.m. when the man surrendered to authorities.

The man, Nazaire Jackson, was arrested and charged with offenses related to the July 18 bank robbery, the Rahway Police Department said in a statement. According to police, the armed robbery occurred at the Bank of America located in the 1000 block of St. Georges Avenue in Rahway.
Further charges are pending against Jackson, and he remains jailed pending his first court appearance, police said.
