Halloween Parade, Cops & Goblins, AppleFest Coming Soon To Westfield
From apple pie contests to spooky costumes and haunted houses, Westfield has lots to offer this Halloween season.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Besides the month-long AddamsFest, Westfield is hosting several other spooky Halloween events this month.
Many Halloween festivities for the whole family will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23 rain or shine, and Westfield's AppleFest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15.
For the 14th year, the Westfield Historical Society will hold its annual Applefest on the lawn of the Reeve House, 314 Mountain Ave., from 12 to 4 p.m.

On the same weekend, the Westfield Historical Society will also host Union County’s Four Centuries in a Weekend Open House at the Reeve House.

Younger children visiting AppleFest will enjoy participating in old-fashioned outdoor games, such as a treasure hunt and pumpkin painting, while parents can enjoy learning about the downtown trolley through a short "lightning talk" and other visual exhibits.
Westfield-native “Save Mary Band” will entertain with favorite tunes from the last four decades. The celebrated Apple Café will also feature new selections by chef Greg Hichok.
An art contest for elementary and middle school students, drawing on the theme of “Children’s Specialized Hospital and the Westfield Connection” will also take place. The apple pie contest is coming back this year as well.
In addition, the second annual Cops and Goblins event, sponsored by the Westfield Police Department, will occur on Oct. 23 from 12 to 2 p.m.
Cops and Goblins will include the following:
- Addams Family police car
- Candy
- Balloon artist
- Face painting
- Food trucks
- Fire engine
- Ambulance
Following this event, a Halloween Parade will be hosted by the Westfield Optimist Club and feature performances by the Westfield High School Marching Band. This will begin at 2 p.m.
The parade requires advance registration and is limited to the first 500 children in Pre-K through fifth grade. Preference will be given to those children who live in Westfield or neighboring communities.
You can look forward to seeing lots of costumed characters at the parade. All children are required to be accompanied by an adult.
