WESTFIELD, NJ — A new smoothie bar and café has arrived in Westfield, as Reves Smoothie Café had its official ribbon cutting this week.

The café launched by Cynthia Noack and her fiancée Basti, both from Germany, opened its doors at 106 Quimby Street and is now welcoming customers. Mayor Shelley Brindle and Councilwoman Emily Root were among those who attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The name "Reves" comes from the French word "rêve," which means "dream." Noack said it was her dream to open to start her own business in Westfield.

Unlike a typical smoothie bar that just sells smoothies, bowls and juices, Noack told Patch that Reves is more like a "European-type café."

Coffee and tea will also be available at the café, in addition to variety of breakfast foods, such as avocado toast.

Noack first came to Westfield when she worked as an au pair in 2016. She then returned to Germany, where she met her fiancée, and later moved back to the U.S. to start their business in downtown Westfield.

Noack is also a certified nutrition coach and has a passion for encouraging people to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The couple has been documenting the entire process of construction and renovating their shop on Quimby Street via TikTok and Instagram.
