Westfield Couple Opens Contemporary Ceramic Studio
The Crispinos just opened 'Fire Me Up! Studio' on Tuesday in downtown Cranford.
If you are looking for an outlet for your creativity, husband and wife, Tammie and Todd Crispino of Westfield just opened, “Fire Me Up! Studio” a contemporary ceramics studio on Tuesday featuring paint-your-own pottery, glass fusing, clay projects and more on N. Union Avenue in Cranford.
Fire Me Up! Studio offers paint-your-own pottery, glass fusing, clay hand-building projects and host art classes and workshops. The studio will also feature Ladies Night and Tween Nights, as well as open studio hours for walk-in customers and even personalized events and parties. So far, the studio has several parties booked, Tammie added.
Opening day on Tuesday was full of excited, Tammie said, adding that she is looking forward to being a part of the creativity done at the studio.
This will be the first ever business the Crispino’s are opening after years spent in the financial services industry.
Once Tammie’s twin daughters were born, she decided to leave the industry and take care of her newborns and 3-year-old son. Now that her youngest are entering first grade, Tammie and Todd decided it was time to start a new venture.
The idea for Fire Me Up ignited from Tammie’s ceramic activities with her daughters. Once the girls started school, Tammie went took up ceramics as her own personal hobby.
“I think it is a great way to let go and decompress after a long day,” Tammie said.
Even coming up with the name for the studio, was a family effort.
“My husband, son, and daughters all had input on the name and then it was put to a vote,” Tammie said. “We wanted something with a play on words that wasn’t too cutesy but that could invoke the essence of our business with the passion that we have for it.”
Tammie said if there was one way she could sum up the goal of the studio, it is to “Fuel Your Creativity!” She hopes the studio will ignite the creativity in everyone.
Fall registration is ongoing for 8-week classes offered for children, as well as a class for adults. Check out the schedule for a description of classes.
The grand opening will be held on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. featuring breakfast treats, balloons, face painting and more. On Sept. 26, the studio will host a "Ladies Night" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
