Westfield Honors Town's History With Preservation Awards: See Pictures

The Devlin Awards are named in honor of Harry Devlin, the late artist and architectural historian who was a founding judge.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The Town of Westfield recognized multiple properties and their owners on Monday for their "outstanding efforts in historic preservation."

The 2025 Harry Devlin Awards were presented by the Westfield Historic Preservation Commission to the following residential properties:

  • Anastasia Harrison for restoration at 23 Stoneleigh Park

  • Peter Kraus and Lorenzo Martin for restoration and painting at 848 Embree Crescent

  • Leo and Jessica Dubrovsky for restoration and sensitive addition at 413 Elm St.

  • Joseph and Leslie Barmakian for painting at 258 East Dudley Ave.

A new honor that highlighted "outstanding stewardship of a historic property" was awarded to Victor and Andrea Mohl of 612-618 Westfield Ave.

Commercial properties were also recognized on Monday for their efforts towards "adaptive reuse."

Maize Cocina & Cocktails was honored for its efforts to bring the old 19th-century train station into a 21st-century restaurant.

The Lenox House at 227 Lenox Ave. also received a Devlin distinction for its conversion of an office building into residential spaces.

Julie Diddell, Chair of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route NJ, was honored with a Special Achievement Award. Diddell played a major part in advancing historic tourism in connection to the March to Yorktown and the Charles Addams Heritage Trail.

Tony and Dennis Annese of Denton Management received a Lifetime Achievement Award for their "outstanding stewardship" of their historic downtown site.
