WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Police Athletic Association was awarded $13,545.67 by the Westfield Foundation. The money will be used to buy youth football blocking sleds and new wrestling mats.

The Westfield PAL has been serving the community since 1953 with recreational, athletic and educational programs including tackle football, flag football, cheerleading, girls’ softball, and a mentoring program. These programs are designed to encourage and inspire children on and off the field. In addition, the sports programs teach the fundamentals of the game, including correct form and technique, and are a training ground for high school level athletics.

In the past few years, the Westfield PAL football program has achieved championship level results in the Suburban Youth Football League.
