Westfield Schools Will Have Delayed Opening Due To Wintery Mix

The district announced all Westfield Schools and offices will have a delayed opening Friday due to the forecast predicting ice and sleet.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield School District announced Thursday night that all schools and offices will have a delayed opening Friday duet to the inclement weather forecasted.

The National Weather Service predicts freezing rain mixed with sleet, as well as possible ice accumulation, from Thursday night into Friday morning. Westfield Schools will operate on a delayed schedule.

If conditions worsen overnight warranting school closures, the district said it will notify the community by 6 a.m.

Union County was placed under a Winter Weather Advisory by the NWS.
