Abad was arrested at 3 p.m. on Sunday and charged with first-degree murder, the complaint says. Abad was taken to the Rockland County Jail.
"The investigation revealed that this was an isolated incident with the parties known to each other and there is no continuing threat to the public," police said. "There were no firearms involved, despite earlier posts and reports."
In the complaint, police said that Abad struck both women "about the head and body numerous times" to prevent them from calling police.
