Community Garden Plots Available to Westwood Residents

The new garden is located in Westvale Park.

Plots in a new community garden at Westvale Park are available to Westwood residents.

There are 30 4-by-8-foot plots in the garden, which is located near the dog run in the park. The plots will be give to Westwood residents only on a first come, first serve basis.

Residents who want a plot in the garden must fill out this form and bring it to the borough clerk's office. One couple has already applied, according to Borough Administrator Robert Hoffmann.

The borough received a $10,000 grant from the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund to build the garden. The fencing has already been put up and residents will be able to begin planting once the plots are installed.

Hoffmann said he was "looking forward to seeing the fruits of everyone's labor."
