Hillsdale Schools Delayed Thursday Due To Weather

With rain and snow in the forecast, Hillsdale Public Schools has decided to operate on a delayed schedule Thursday, Jan. 20.

HILLSDALE, NJ — Hillsdale Public Schools have decided to delay classes Thursday morning because of snow and rain in the forecast.

The National Weather Service said that rain or a mix of rain and snow are likely before 4 a.m. Snow will continue until the noon hour Thursday, and will likely be under two inches of accumulation. The timing of the predicted snowfall makes the commute to school more difficult.

The district said families will be notified of any further changes by 7 a.m. Thursday.

Meadowbrook and Smith Schools begin at 10:30 a.m. and George White begins at 9:40 a.m.

Morning pre-kindergarten will be from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and afternoon pre-kindergarten runs from 1:10 - 3:10 p.m.

The ACE before school program at Meadowbrook and Smith schools is canceled, the district said.

Bus pick-up times will be delayed by 90 minutes.

Lunch will be served at all three schools.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for east Bergen County and several other New Jersey counties from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday.
