Here are all the important dates families need to know about for the coming school year.
HILLSDALE, NJ— Don't let this news stop you from enjoying the remainder of the summer, but the first bell of the 2019-20 school year is about a week away.
Here are some key dates for the upcoming school year:
- First day of school: Sept. 3
- Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 30-Oct. 1
- Yom Kippur: Oct. 9
- Columbus Day: Oct. 14
- Early Dismissal: Nov. 4-6
- No School/NJEA Conference: Nov. 7-8
- Thanksgiving break: Early Dismissal Nov. 27, off Nov. 28-29
- Early Dismissal: Dec. 20
- Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
- Winter Break: Feb. 17-18
- Early Dismissal: March 16
- Spring Break: April 6-10
- Memorial Day, School Closed: May 25
- Early Dismissal: June 16-18
- Last Day of School: June 18
Noting these dates are good way to prepare for going back to school. But don't forget the school supplies.
