Irish Eyes Imports Closing
The store's owners blame the poor economy for having to shut down the shop, which has been in Bergen County since 1985.
Irish Eyes Imports, a shop specializing in all things from the Emerald Isle, will be closing their doors after more than 25 years of business in Bergen County.
Owner Gene Callaghan said they were forced to close the store because of the poor economy.
"We just can't make people spend money they don't have," Callaghan said.

The store originally opened in Ridgewood in 1985. Gene and Tara Callaghan bought the store about five years ago and moved it to Westwood in 2010.
There is not definite closing date set yet, but it will likely happen sometime in January, Callaghan said. Until then, the shop is holding a large sale with all of their merchandise marked down 30 percent or more.

Callaghan said they plan to continue the business online via their website.
