Jackson Avenue Work to Last a Month

A new water main is being installed on Jackson Avenue in Washington Township.

Contractors are scheduled to being installing a new water main on Jackson Avenue in Washington Township Friday, according to township police.

The work is expected to last about a month. Crews will not be working on Christmas Eve or Christmas.

During the project, police will be closing Jackson Avenue at the section that is being worked on. It is expected that the road will be closed at the intersection of Washington Avenue for the first several days of the work, police said.

Parents and students who use the dead end of School Street and walk over the hill to Washington Elementary School will have to use a different route when the work reaches that portion of Jackson Avenue.
