Knights of Columbus Raise $20K For Developmentally Disabled

The annual Washington Township fundraiser included a $10,000 donation from Oritani Bank.

The Annual Fund Drive conducted by the Mother Seton Council #5427 Knights of Columbus of Washington Township from April 19 to 21 raised $20,286 to aid developmentally disabled children and adults.

Donations were collected from car to car by Brother Knights at the intersections of Pascack Road and Washington Avenue (near Seasons) and Pascack Road and Ridgewood Road (near Bacari Grill). Shoppers at the Washington Town Center responded in similar fashion.

Oritani Bank CEO Kevin Lynch, a member of the K of C, provided a matching grant of $10,000 from the Oritani Bank Charitable Foundation, which meant a doubling of the funds raised.

It has been the tradition of Mother Seton Council to use the donations collected to give back to the local communities from where it came. This year the money raised will be given to the following: The Felician School for Exceptional Children, ARC of Bergen County, New Concept for Living, Spectrum for Living, Catholic Community Services, and the New Jersey Special Olympics.
