Taste of Westwood, Primary Elections This Week
Here's a look at the week ahead in Westwood, Hillsdale and Washington Township.
The Pascack Valley Regional Board of Education will recognize the the district's robotics team, who recently competed at the world championship in St. Louis. The board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Pascack Hills High School.
The Westwood Zoning Board meets at 8 p.m. Monday in the borough Municipal Complex. The board is scheduled to hear several applications, including a proposed dry cleaner and nail salon on Broadway and a project on Kinderkamack Road near the former Chevy dealership.
Primary elections are Tuesday. In Washington Township, Republicans Janet Sobkowicz and Joe D'Urso are competing for the mayor's job and Fred Goetz, Lauren Thomson, Peter Calamari and Tom Sears are running for two council seats. Local primary elections in Westwood and Hillsdale are uncontested. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Hillsdale Library is hosting a program for seniors explaining how to avoid fraud and financial exploitation. The program starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The Hillsdale Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Borough Hall.

The Washington Township Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the township Municipal Complex.
The fifth annual Taste of Westwood is scheduled for Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Westwood Library. The event features food and drinks from numerous local restaurants and money raised supports the library. Tickets are still available.
Hillsdale Police will be holding their first-ever "coffee with a cop" event at the Hillsdale Starbucks Sunday. Officers will talk to residents and answer any questions in a relaxed environment. Police will be at Starbucks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
